The onions did not do well this year for me. They are quite small. |
|
Getting quite a few Chocolate Peppers, and the first of the Golden Star bell peppers. |
|
I've lost about 6 or so tomatoes to the critters coming from under the deck, chipmunk maybe. So I have been picking some barely pink ones to get them before they do. |
|
Homemade french dressing made with tomato sauce, red onion, and garlic from the garden and a few other ingredients. Not quite as orange as what you get at the store but it was just as yummy. |
|
Not getting too many carrots right now. The top one is a purple sun, after it was roasted it was a deep purple. Very pretty, and good too. At least roasted it was. |
These are not nearly 3# like the one my friend got out of one of my "great white" seedling I gave her, but these are pretty nice too! These are Brandywine.
Those Brandywines are amazing! Sprry about the critters getting your tomatoes! There's not much worse that veggie carnage at the hands of un-catchable rascals!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous harvest! and LOVE those huge tomatoes! those peppers and beans look so pretty and colorful.
ReplyDeleteYour onions may be small but they look pretty. The rest of the harvest looks great, nice variety. My Brandywines have never looked as good as yours, virtually unblemished.
ReplyDeletewell...except for the 2 bird holes in the side of one. You can see them in the bottom pic. ;)
DeleteYes, I noticed , but I'm too polite to say so. They are still beautiful and no one will notice when you slice them up.
DeleteGreat tomatoes, too bad about the critter damage though, I know how frustrating that is, I had terrible rat problems a couple years ago. It looks like you are harvesting some lovely squash and beans also.
ReplyDeleteYour harvests look terrific! Sorry about the onions, I know I had a bad year last year with all tiny ones, so I can understand the disappointment. That French dressing does look delicious!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful harvest in spite of the critter damage. Those Brandywine tomatoes. WOW!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should put a picture of my Brandywine beside your Brandywine! Mutt and Jeff! LOL So sorry about your critters getting your tomatoes. That can be discouraging. You are still getting a nice variety of harvest! Nancy
ReplyDeleteWow pretty Brandywines, I grew them years ago but they are much smaller than yours. Sorry about the critter damage, the rest of the harvest is beautiful. I don't remember the last time I had French dressing, it must be at least 30 years ago, I do vinaigrette now-a-days, it's easier for me.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful harvest. I always have to take my tomatoes at first blush or I lose them. :-(
ReplyDeleteThose Brandywines are gorgeously amazing! Sorry about your onions :-(
