Potatoes in Februarry!

The kids and dh were clearing out an old raised bed, moving the soil to a new bed and they found several potatoes. Enough for dinner tonight! And some small ones to replant as soon as the beds are done. I have 3 new beds done and 2 more in the works for the 2013 garden!
You can see more winter harvests at Daphne's Dandelions!

  1. Lucky you to harvest those potatoes this time of year. What zone are you in? It is too cold to work outdoors here yet. Enjoy your potatoes! Nancy

  2. No matter how carefully I harvest the potato patch, there is always quite a few left behind! It can make for a good winter scavenger hunt to go try and find a few "missed" ones for fresh eating.

  3. Oh i do like a surprise harvest - especially one that useful. Potatoes do like to hide don't they?

  5. When I used to grow potatoes I always found lost potatoes in the bed. You can never find them all.
